Afternoon of Sunday, April 27th
Buchanan Michigan
At the Old Clark Equipment Factory
The main rally style event with speakers will begin at 2 p.m.,
with beer, food, conversation, and a celebration to follow
The Summit will be held at Lehman’s Farmhouse in Buchanan Michigan, in the old Clark Equipment factory building. The factory was closed during the recession of the 1980s, and up until just a few short years ago, the factory was run down and abandoned. The Lehman family, which has been growing crops in Michigan since 1929, has since restored the building and turned it into a staple of the Buchanan community.
The main rally style event with speakers will begin at 2 p.m., with beer, food, conversation, and a celebration to follow.
Given that the factory was home to one of the largest UAW strikes of the 1960’s, we felt that this location would be the perfect venue to celebrate the leadership and strength of our union workers in Michigan. Our goals for this event are to honor those who came before us and laid the foundation for workers’ rights in the U.S. and to demonstrate that Labor in Michigan is just as strong as ever. We believe that Lehman’s Farmhouse and its storied history of workers fighting for their rights is representative of those goals.
